AI Society:

AI Society has started off with an AI Kick-off event to introduce the society to students and show what they are all about!

They also gave talks to MSc Marketing and Aviation!

They had their first workshop related to Prompt Engineering and they are currently finalising their events for January. Watch this space!

Arts & Crafts:

Arts and Crafts Society have been holding their weekly meetings, trying out different activities and crafts. They also held a Bauble Painting event in collaboration with the CSA. We saw so many wonderful decorations made, from traditionally festive to SpongeBob themed, you covered it all. The level of planning and concentration throughout the event was impressive, we’re not surprised all the decorations were amazing! Keep an eye out for more events from the Arts & Crafts society in the new year.

Christian Union:

The Christian Union have some events coming up over the Christmas closure period. Check out their schedule below:

Cranfield Africa Impact Summit:

After officially launching this term The Cranfield Africa Impact Summit Society (CAIS) has started strong with many events. Let’s hear from them:

“Highlights from the term:

Inaugural Launch Event – A Vibrant Beginning

We successfully hosted our inaugural gathering, where members connected, shared experiences, discussed our mission, and began shaping our collective agenda for the year. The session featured networking, strategic conversations, and community-building activities.

Idea Mapping Workshop – Turning Problems into Opportunities

We held our first Idea Mapping Session, where students from different regions of Africa and beyond worked together to identify real-world challenges across various sectors. Participants brainstormed high-level solutions and identified areas of opportunity for the coming term. This session marked the start of a series that will eventually guide student-led projects, policy recommendations, or prototypes.

Strategic Advisory Circle – Growing Our Network of Mentors

We are thrilled to welcome experienced and passionate professionals who have joined our Strategic Advisory Circle. They will mentor our members, help with market readiness for prototypes, contribute to workshops, and help shape the Society’s thematic direction.

Appointment of our Patron

We proudly announced our Patron, Thelma Ekyior, a distinguished development leader (a current DBA student at Cranfield) whose work spans women’s empowerment, public sector reform and social impact across Africa and beyond. She was appointed as the chairperson of the first-ever Nigeria Office for Philanthropy & Impact Investing. She currently serves as the International CEO at Women for Women International. Her guidance strengthens our ambition to turn ideas into long-term impact.”

Going forward they are planning many events, so keep an eye out for these. So, what’s coming up: a Leadership Workshop Series, Afri-Convo – Coffee & Conversation Hangouts, Knowledge Sharing Sessions, and next Summer is their flagship Cranfield Africa Impact Summit!

Women in Business:

“Our first Women in Business Cranfield event set a powerful tone for the year, bringing together ambition, community and inspiration. The evening opened with our “Meet the Board” session, where our president India Wishart introduced the passionate team behind the club. Members had the chance to network with like-minded peers, discover shared goals and learn more about the exciting plans shaping our year ahead.

We were also honoured to hear from Dr. Deirdre Anderson, Director of the Gender, Leadership and Inclusion Centre, who shared her belief that success knows no gender. Through her personal experiences, she highlighted how our club aims to help each member aspire, build, and connect with confidence.

Looking ahead, we’re especially excited for our upcoming I Am Remarkable workshop with Katrina Armstrong, designed to help us speak proudly about our achievements, own our stories and strengthen our professional presence.”

Christmas at the CSA:

We may be closed over the Christmas period, but that doesn’t mean we are gone. Visit our webpage to see our ideas of activities and suggestions to not feel alone and to keep busy this Christmas.
