Welcome to the Cranfield African and Caribbean Society! 🌍🌴 

 

Whether your roots are in Africa, the Caribbean, or somewhere else entirely, you'll find a place here. We’re all about good food, great music, and even better company, bringing the energy, flavors, and traditions of Africa and the Caribbean to Cranfield.

 

Here’s a taste of what’s coming up this year:

  • Socials and parties, with a DJ, dancing, games and plenty of good vibes
  • “Sharing Our Cultures” evenings, where members bring dishes and stories from home
  • Trips and outings to explore cities, cultural events and festivals together
  • Networking and career events to connect with students, alumni and professionals
  • Collaborations with other Cranfield societies, so there’s always something new going on

 

We know starting somewhere new can feel like a lot, especially when home is miles away. Whether you’re looking for a taste of home, a few new friends or just a good night out, we’d love to have you with us!

Cranfield African and Caribbean Society – Membership Terms and Conditions

By purchasing a membership, I agree to the following:

  1. Code of Conduct: I have read and will follow the Society’s Code of Conduct, and I understand that breaching it may lead to action, including removal of membership.
  2. Constitution and CSA rules: I will follow the Society’s constitution and the rules and policies of the CSA and Cranfield University.
  3. Age: I am 18 or over.
  4. Food allergies: I will disclose any food allergies or dietary requirements when signing up, and I will remind a Committee member before eating food at Society events.
  5. Safety: I will follow reasonable instructions from Committee members and event organisers, and I take part in Society activities responsibly and at my own risk, within the Society’s risk assessments.
  6. Photos and videos: I understand that photos and videos may be taken at events and shared on the Society’s social media. I can ask the Committee not to be photographed, or to have an image removed, at any time.
  7. Personal information: I agree that my contact details may be used by the Committee for Society communications, including the WhatsApp group, and will be handled in line with data protection rules.
  8. Membership fee: Membership is valid for the current academic year. Refunds are subject to the CSA’s refund policy.
  9. Associate members: I understand that associate members (staff, friends and relatives of student members) do not have voting rights.
